Union Station…Justin and Mellicia
April and I had so much fun with Brooke and Chris (see previous BLOG post)…we decided to team up a few more times this spring before the chaos of wedding season hits us both full force. This weekend it was April’s elegant evening wedding at Union Station with Mellicia and Justin. I loved the playfulness this couple expressed as we took photos.

We moved inside Union Station…..believe it or not….to the bathroom. I know it sounds crazy, but it was a huge open room with beautiful mirrors, intricate tile floors, luminous candles, and fresh tulips. Amazing natural light from enormous frosted windows helped create these romantic shots.

Check back soon as April and I will be teaming up for a few of my spring weddings next month.

April’s Wedding
I’ve been photographing weddings for over 6 years. But rarely do I get the chance to watch another photographer in action. If I’m at a wedding…I’m typically there working. In December my friend and fellow photographer, April Greer shadowed me at one of my weddings as a second shooter so she could fiddle with shooting in RAW format. Well, this weekend it was my turn to return the favor and have some fun. April invited me to second shoot for her. I welcomed the opportunity to watch April work as I love her funky style. What resulted are some fun images of mine (shown below) that will compliment the fabulous photos that I know this bride and groom will get from April.
In this photo April was on the other side of the door capturing the bride from the front. I was able to get this shot from inside across the room. I loved the way the sunshine was making her glow.

Every spot in this amazing venue had beautiful decor. No matter which direction I was shooting the background was breathtaking. Of course, our beautiful bride, Brooke, knew how to work the camera so that helped too.

We spent about an hour with Brooke photographing her before her groom had the pleasure of seeing his bride for the first time. Often people don’t realize what it takes to capture such a variety of images…it takes time. Brooke was willing to dedicate the time April needed and the results will blow her away I’m sure.

It wouldn’t be a spring wedding without cherry blossoms…..and the florist made this place look like a cherry forrest.

Finally, it was time for Chris to see his bride. He was thrilled to see her. I even heard him say how much he had missed her since the day before. Now that is a keeper!

I really love photographing brides with veils. It adds that extra something to play with in the photos. Here it pumps up the romantic feeling don’t you think?

We ventured outside for some more urban themed photos and I loved the playfulness of this shot. I was laying in the dirt to get it but hey….anything for the right shot right?

A big thank you to April www.aprilgreer.com for letting me tag along and watch her work. It is inspiring to see another photographer in action. I love what I was able to capture for you and I hope Brooke and Chris do too.

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS…..
I have photographed some really beautiful baby girls in the past few weeks. These 3 little ones (all from different sessions…not triplets) gave me fantastic expressions, sleepy shots, smiles, and were such fun to photograph.

Don’t you love this little one’s chubby cheeks and her bright eyes!!!

I know Mommy sure does adore her.

This little girl was awake the entire session and probably slept really well on the way home.
You have to love this little burst of enthusiasm….

So there we have it. 3 beautiful baby girls. In about 15 years….watch out boys….these girls are going to be heart breakers!
