Chunk-a-Love

How delicious is this little guy!!!? Don’t you want to nibble on his chunky cheeks? He is as cute as they come with a personality to match. Rosy cheeks, big blue eyes, yummy curls, and a great big smile…it doesn’t get better.

Britni & Rashawd…

12 years ago this same weekend, I said “I do” to my husband Rob. It was a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and big white puffy clouds. This weekend we saw rain, sunshine, rain, hail, rain, snow, sunshine, and some more rain….global warming? The weather didn’t stop us from capturing some fabulous images of Britni and Rashawd. The ceremony was at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle. Even though it was crazy weather, there are fabulous overhangs outside the church that allowed us to continue to shoot outside when it did rain.

As Britini got ready for her big day, her mother lovingly helped her daughter lace up her dress. I loved all the details of this gorgeous dress!

Just before the rain started, we caught some fun shots of Britini outside the church. In these next two shots, she was being playful with her dress and kicking up her heels.

Rashawd was blown away by the beauty of his bride.

April (www.aprilgreer.com) was second shooting for me this weekend. It is always a treat to have her vision along. She suggested the garage for shooting. Britini and Rashawd totally trusted me when I asked them to go into the garage of the building. I caught this lovely shot of them inside the garage. My assistant Tammy was holding an umbrella over me so my equipment didn’t get wet.

The sun came out for a minute and this sexy shot was the result. I love the umbrella leisurely hanging out of his hand.

It started to POUR buckets. But Britni and Rashawd were under a 3 foot cover in the church courtyard. If they moved a few inches they would have been soaked. Again, thanks to big umbrellas, April, Tammy, and I were able to get what we wanted from them despite the rain.

During the ceremony, the rain stopped and they were able to exit the building without risk of getting wet from anything but a bunch of bubbles.

TIME TO CELEBRATE!!!

The Edgewater was the reception venue. As the sky turned to dusk, I asked them for one last shot and this beautiful image was created. I love the reflection of the chandelier in the window.

Sahalee……Brian and Jessica……Dancing with the Stars

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Brian and Jessica for a classy wedding at Sahalee Golf Club.  What a FUN night.  First of all, who would have expected such a beautiful day?  The sun was shining and mood was playful.  Jessica and Brian had thought through every last detail of their day from start to finish….and what a finish it was.  This bride and groom went to dance classes and it paid off big time.  In all my years of photographing weddings, I have never seen a couple so creative on the dance floor.  There were spins, dips, and even lifts…but wait…there is more.  Half way through the dance the music blended from traditional ballroom music into this funky, hip hop song and the mood of the dance changed too.  It became this crazy fun choreographed dance complete with groove and attitude.  I LOVED IT.  Great job Jessica and Brian!

This week on Dancing with the Stars we welcome Jessica and Brian for their first dance as husband and wife.

This is the part where the funk and attitude kicked in.

This wedding it was my turn to have April Greer second shot for me.  She has such a fabuous talent and a creative eye.  While I was inside photographing the toasts, she shot these last few images showcasing the beauty of Sahalee at night.  Thanks for all your hard work April.  You are a star!

And baby makes 3….

I had the pleasure of working with Tom and Jen to photograph their wedding in 2004.  They made such an imprint on my heart that you can still find them in the wedding section of my website 4 years later!  Having the opportunity to photograph them with their child was delightful.  The love that I witnessed in 2004 has expanded to include their little blue eyed boy, Zach.  He has that same sparkle and is clearly a treasure to his parents.  It is such an honor to photograph weddings.  Unlike the dress shops, florists, and caterers, my job doesn’t end after the wedding celebration is over.  I continue to document their lives as they expand to include the little miracles called children.

Do I have a great job or what?????

Just two little teeth, how precious is that.

Mommy loved to cuddle with her little man.

Zach was happy the entire morning.  Here he held on tight to Daddy’s leg and giggled for me.

Oh how I LOVE his chubby cheeks!  They remind me of my own son’s….I kept wanting to pinch them.

Well, hopefully, Jen and Tom will love their photos.  Towards the end of our session Zach pulled off Dad’s glasses.  In an attempt to catch them before they hit the ground, I crushed their fragile frame.  Tom didn’t care….but when I was editing the photos I noticed that they are Dolce & Gabana glasses……..oops!  I think I owe them a discount on their reprints.
