Mr. and Mrs. Cory Kliewer…Wedding at Hidden Meadows

Cory was a groomsman at his sisters wedding that I photographed a few years ago.  When he and Sheneil called to say they were engaged and wanted me to photograph their wedding I was super excited.  It is always an honor to capture family events and when you know some of the family it is all that much more personal.  The Kliewer family is  one of the nicest bunch of people you will ever meet.  I was thrilled to find that Sheneil also came from a great family.

This year I started doing bridal portraits before the groom sees his lady.  It is the first time a bride is in her gown from veil to shoes with her hair and makeup done to perfection.  I take some shots, show them some of the images and it is a “WOW, IS THAT REALLY ME” moment.  Once brides see what I’m capturing it is smooth sailing.  I showed Sheneil a few of these shots and she instantly became so totally comfortable with herself.

Cory is an amazing man.  Not only is he smokin’ hot….but he is sensitive and kind.  He actually searched out Julie and I at the reception to personally thank us for doing such a great job capturing their day…and he hadn’t even seen a photo yet.  He said he knew when he watched me work at his sister’s wedding that when he and Sheneil were ready to tie the knot, I’d be the photographer there capturing their day.  For a guy who wasn’t even engaged at the time to recognize that was impressive.  And the fact that he took the time to come and thank me on his wedding day was even more impressive.   Lance and Lynn you should be proud of your son.  Sheneil, you have got yourself a keeper!

While photographing Cory, Sheneil’s maid of honor handed her a beer.  This classic shot of the beautiful bride with the Budweiser cracks me up.

Julie caught this moment while Sheneil was perched up on her Daddy’s vintage car.  I love it.

Moments before walking down the aisle, Sheneil and her Dad took a deep breath and took in the moment that they both had anticipated in their dreams for years.

Engagement Session at Golden Gardens

I was super excited for this engagement session.  After 3 reschedules (got to love the weather we have had this summer) we finally picked a great evening and went to Golden Gardens.  Elizabeth has this amazing energy with a smile that lights up her eyes.  Mike is very relaxed and so adorable with Elizabeth.  They are Bee U Tee Ful together!  I have the honor of photographing their wedding next May and I can’t wait!

What an amazing sunset!!! It almost looks fake….but honestly this is how it came out of my camera.  Glorious!

Business is crazy, I don’t have time to be posting blogs.  Yet I decided to stay up late and get some work done…when I was editing their photos, I just had to post a quick one.  Must run.  It is after midnight and I still have retouching and photo processing to do before I catch a wink of sleep and then I am back at it again tomorrow.

SENIORS with CLASS!

wolves-ad-08blog.jpg

I have never advertised my business in any print publication.  After photographing a ton of seniors this summer from the local high school, I was approached to advertise in the local Eastlake Wolves Football Program.  Having photographed many of the boys from the team and some of the cheer/dance squads….I felt like it would be a good gesture to support the program that supports my business.  Plus, my own little man is now playing tackle football so I kind of got wrapped up in the whole football spirit thing.  So here it is, my first ever print add.  I’m excited to have created it.

A special thanks to the kids who were gracious enough to allow me to use their images for the ad.  They were all totally respectful to me (and to their mothers) during our photo shoots.  There was no sense of entitlement or an ounce of attitude from one of these kids.  I left each of their sessions hoping that my own kids will share the same gracious spirit within them as they grow to be teenagers.
