 I had the immense pleasure of visiting the home of this beautiful newborn and her family a few days ago.  I was greeted at the door by a very proud daddy.  I barely got in the house and found I had 2 little girls arms wrapped about my legs giving me welcome hugs.  The girls were pulling me up the stairs to meet their new baby sister.  We soon found Mommy rocking her little bundle of joy.  The girls quickly gathered around to show off the new addition to their family.  I glanced over at Daddy who was standing nearby looking at his girls with a look of tremendous pride on his face.

Later, I was being serenaded by the girls playing their pink guitars in a jam session with Daddy (yes he was really singing).  Miraculously, she fell asleep peacefully.  I wish I could do that.

We had finished a few naked shots of the baby on their fur bed-cover.  Just as I mentioned putting on a diaper to avoid potential damage, she went pee-pee all over.  Good thing it was a washable cover.

Daddy gets a moment to hold his tiniest girl.  You can see she already has him wrapped around her finger!

 I really recommend home visits to parents of newborns.  It is so easy to have me come to you rather than packing up everything and making your way to my studio.   Plus it gives the photos a really relaxed feeling.  This service is free January-March.  When my portrait work picks back up to the hectic pace I keep (April-December) it is still possible to have me come to you for a fee.  Please inquire well in advance if you are interested in scheduling your newborn home session as I need to keep my calendar clear for a longer appointment than I require for studio time (to allow for my travel).

I have had a blast offering clients in home sessions this winter.  Here are a few favorites from 2 of my recent sessions with 2 different families.  Both had adorable girls and beautiful homes.  Thanks for letting me come into your world to capture the kids in their own space.  I loved it!

We had lots of giggles and smiles from these next girls, but somehow, I am drawn to the more serious photos as my personal favorites.

So what do you do if you want a winter wonderland wedding……put twinkle lights and crystal snowflakes everywhere!  Monica turned Lord Hill Farms into a magical setting for her wedding.  No matter which angle I shot from, the lights were magnificent!

Snowflakes sparkled as they hung over the dance floor from the beautiful exposed beams of the venue.

Even the cake was completely surrounded by lights.

These two love birds were so genuinely happy to be married.  They couldn’t stop smiling. 

I had to post a few quick shots of this little cutie.  She was so precious in her little bunny jacket!  I love the natural light from the window that makes her skin look like peaches and cream.  

I love that my job allows me to often be around babies! I get to miss the 3am feedings (which is nice)…the perfect mix of getting my baby fix fulfilled and still getting a good nights rest. 

Don’t let the winter weather hold you back from getting photos.  Bundle up the kids and let’s go.  I mean come on, how cute are these two all cuddled up in their winter sweaters and hats with rosy little cheeks.
