Sarah & Kurt….Wedding

b1003sarahkurt.jpg

I had the pleasure of shooting for my BPF (best photographer friend) April Greer this weekend at the wedding of Kurt and Sarah.  April and I had a blast at this super swanky event.  Every detail was fabulous.  Sarah has an amazing look about her…I could have photographed her for days!  Here are a few of my favs of Sarah.

April ordered up these big balloons as a surprise for the couple.  I LOVED the pop of color and playfulness they added to photos.

The reception was at the Seattle Aquarium.  The fish tank and the purple/pink up-lighting on their groovy wavy wall was a beautiful backdrop for the reception photos.  I love the peacefulness of this empty room photo before the guests entered.

What a FUN night to be part of!  Thanks April for having me along!

Angel and Lisa….Wedding

Both Angel and Lisa are self-described as “camera shy”.  I was told I’d have my work cut out for me as neither one of them like having their photos taken.  I spent some time with Lisa in the tiny dressing room of Windmill Gardens.  She looked so peaceful as she got ready to see her groom.

The colors at this venue were amazing.  Bright, vibrant, rich….lovely.  Color was everywhere!

This pile of pots made for a fun background.

Angel and Lisa were willing to trust that I’d pick the right spots to get fabulous photos….but I did see an eyebrow raise when I asked them to come across the street into the grungy parking lot of an auto repair shop.  The tall grasses made a nice contrast to the colorful gardens we had been shooting in.  It paid off don’t you think?   bangel-1004.jpg

Well,  you may be camera shy…but you are both beautiful to photograph!  Thanks for letting me be part of your day.

Portrait Heaven

Summer is here, my kids are out of school, wedding season is in full gear, and oh yes, my portrait work is on fire……life is good….life is hectic.  I’ve been posting mainly wedding photos as I know my brides/grooms are anxious for a peek of the day that blurred by.  I’m taking a quick minute out to post some favorite family shots from a portrait session I did recently.  Every time I work with this family, I admire the interaction the boys have with each other and their parents.  You can tell they all genuinely love each other.

Top 50 in the WORLD!

For my husband Rob, golf is his next love (behind our kids and myself).  Rob is the current Sahalee Club Champion.  Part of this honor comes with an opportunity to golf in the Sahalee Players Championship.  This tournament is by invitation only and boasts the top 50 golf amateurs in the world.  These boys will one day be on the PGA tour.  So for the past 4 days, Rob has been competing with these young men more than half his age and holding his own.  I took the kids and a few of their friends out to cheer him on this morning.  The photo below has Rob’s dad (who is his caddy) and two of the amateur players watching Rob sink one into the hole.

Rob’s dad, Al Chandler, couldn’t be more proud of his son.  He is loving every moment right along side of Rob.

Great job Rob!  I’m so proud of you and your accomplishments.  You worked hard to become the Sahalee Club Champion and you deserved your moment of glory with these young men.  Down the road, maybe the Senior PGA Tour isn’t such a bad idea…..I can be your personal photographer. :)

P.S.  The kids did an amazing job of keeping quiet on the course….wonder if I can somehow get that to transfer to inside my car.
