I photographed an adorable little sleeping angel in the studio last week.  I’m up to my eyeballs processing photos from people taking advantage of the new studio special…..but I had to stop and post these snugly little shots of Baby Kinsey.

I loved this shot of the girls.  There is no mistaking this pink princess for a boy!  This beauty is 100% girl!

Elizabeth was one of the most relaxed and comfortable-infront-of-the-camera brides that I’ve ever photographed.  Not to mention, she is drop dead gorgeous.  I knew she’d be stunning and glowing when pregnant.  I was super excited to see Mike and Elizabeth in my studio for pregnancy photos.  They are adorable together and are truly a match made in heaven. 

Some women just look like they were made to be pregnant….Elizabeth is clearly one of those women.  She looks unbelievable.

Mike and Elizabeth, I can’t wait to meet your son in a few weeks!

This week was an amazing week.  I had the extreme honor of photographing the delivery at Evergreen Hospital of  this sweet little bundle of  joy.  Being invited to be present in such an intimate moment was truly so special.  Erin and Chris (mom & dad) were relaxed and down right funny during the pre-labor.   Once the time arrived to actually get to work on getting the baby out, the mood became a calm focus by Erin and total support and adoration by Chris.  Within moments, the baby was laying on Erin’s chest as both parents were clearly elated to see their perfect baby.   

Later in the week, baby Austin came to visit me in my studio.  Look as his eyelashes….are you kidding me?  Why to boys always get the long eye lashes?

 Doesn’t he look like a peanut in the shell?

 Welcome little man Austin and congratulations to Erin and Chris.

 Meet Calvin…one of the sweetest little boys you will ever meet.  At his young age, he has gone through more than most will in a lifetime.  He has had extended Children’s Hospital stays due to illness and surgeries, CAT scans, MRI’s, EEG’s, GI tests, muscle biopsy, and most recently a G-feeding tube.

Cal was recently diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease.  While his future is uncertain, he has a magnetic personality that touches everyone he meets.  I have been photographing Calvin’s siblings for years and Calvin since he was born.  Each time I see this family, my heart fills up to the brim….what a family full of love.

 Big brother Caiden and big sis Audrey are such good siblings.  They look out for Calvin and are always making sure he is okay.

Mom is truly one of the most patient and amazing women I’ve ever met.  Despite sleeping maybe an hour a night…she remains smiling, happy and grateful for another day.  I keep up on Cal’s story through her Caring Bridge updates on the Internet.  Each time I read her entries, I can’t help but be in awe of what strength it must take to deal with the daily struggles that face this family.

This tender moment was beautiful to witness….Dad is a pillar of strength for this family and totally adores his wife and kids.

When I just read the latest update on Calvin’s difficult week involving overnight stays at Children’s,  I looked at this photo and said a little prayer that one day soon Calvin will again be running along side Caiden and Audrey.

I love doing engagement sessions….it is like a warm up for the wedding day.  Brides and grooms get comfortable with how I work, they get to see how they photograph best, and they gain a deeper sense of trust in me.  They learn that if they just let their “camera shy” inhibitions go the photos will reflect that the day of their wedding.

Kelli and Sean brought along their “kids”, a.k.a. dogs, to add to the photos.  You know they say dogs look like their owners.  It cracked me up to see that these two dogs matched their Kelli & Sean to a tee.   Both dogs were owned prior to Kelli & Sean meeting.  

Just hoping a train wouldn’t come along the tracks while were were working in the area…..I told them, “I’ve got your back if you’ve got mine!”

Thankfully, we were off the tracks by the time the train came zipping by.

I love the expression on the dogs faces…..like….”common’ really, they are kissing again?!!”

Kelli & Sean, I can’t wait for your wedding next month.

Kids don’t come any cuter or sweeter than these two little dudes.

Mom was inspired to bring these balloons by a painting she once saw.  She called me to see what I thought about the idea and I loved it.  It added a burst of color and playfulness to the photos.  The little guy isn’t quite sure if he likes them at first…the ribbons were bugging him.

A little encouragement from big brother and the balloons became a hit!

And yes, there were tears when they finally floated away.

I had the pleasure of photographing Jenna for model head shots.  Every time I look at her face I smile.  Don’t you think she is destined for stardom?  With a face like that and such a unique look….I think the modeling world will be seeing lots of her.  And talk about easy in front of the camera, she knew just what looks to provide for a variety of expressions.  Model-Actress….Look-out Hollywood!

I am so happy to have seen some warm and dry days over the recent weeks to photograph outside.   Keeping up with kids that are zipping around the park is one of my favorite challenges.  As the weather turns, the realization that people want to schedule photos seems to kick in.  So if you haven’t yet gotten on my summer/fall calendar please call soon to get the best scheduling options.

I have had the pleasure of working with this family since their oldest daughter (pictured above) was just tiny.  Now she is all grown up and such a good big sister to her 2 younger sibling.  Keeping up with her brother was a challenge as he was constantly on the move (very typical for a 2 year old boy).  Giving him a stick to play with slowed him down enough to capture some fun shots of him.  

You have got to love this little cutie.  She is adorable.

Once again, keeping the little guy in the vicinity of the camera required the use of some distraction…this time it was pine cones.

And of course, with a 2 year old you can’t always have smiles.  I couldn’t help but giggle at his pouty face.  Thankfully my face was hidden behind the camera so he didn’t see. 

One of the great joys in my work is watching my brides and grooms become parents.  To see how they transform from the time when I saw them last is remarkable.  For those who have followed my blog for a few years, you will remember Britni & Rashawd’s April 2008 wedding.  Their wedding was filled with such joy and there was so much love between them their photos were electric.  Well, meet their little one, Tinsley.  She has the beauty of both parents and was a delight to photograph.  Congratulations!
