Dana and Rich’s Little Lady

I spent a lovely afternoon with Dana and Rich in their Seattle home last week.  Their 6 week old daughter captivated me from the moment I walked in their door.  She is utter perfection with beautiful features and a great disposition.  Dana and Rich are so totally comfortable and relaxed with their little lady.  I think there is something to be said for babies picking up on their environment.  She just cooed and looked around until she was hungry.  Then she squawked a minute, mama fed her and with a full tummy she was back to gazing about the room and kicking her little legs in the air.

Clearly this is when she was hungry.  :)

If Dogs Could Talk

I am certain that if Bailey (the dog) could talk you would hear something like this…..”Ruuuuuuufffff….take the photo…she is pulling my hair!”  I was laughing out loud when I edited these photos.  You know the dog was just hating being told to “STAY!”

Notice the dog leaning to try to edge just out of her reach.

Amazing what the promise of a dog treat will do to make Bailey tolerate some hair pulling.

This adorable family has been to see me 3 times since she was born.  I am always amazed at how much babies change in just a few months.  We moved into the master bedroom and took advantage of some beautiful natural window light.  I loved the color of the walls with their white bedding.  Plus, it matched her beautiful eye color.

Time to call it a wrap…..both baby and dog need a nap.

Daddy’s Girls

bzoretic-2010.jpg

I had the immense pleasure of visiting the home of this beautiful newborn and her family a few days ago.  I was greeted at the door by a very proud daddy.  I barely got in the house and found I had 2 little girls arms wrapped about my legs giving me welcome hugs.  The girls were pulling me up the stairs to meet their new baby sister.  We soon found Mommy rocking her little bundle of joy.  The girls quickly gathered around to show off the new addition to their family.  I glanced over at Daddy who was standing nearby looking at his girls with a look of tremendous pride on his face.

Later, I was being serenaded by the girls playing their pink guitars in a jam session with Daddy (yes he was really singing).  Miraculously, she fell asleep peacefully.  I wish I could do that.

We had finished a few naked shots of the baby on their fur bed-cover.  Just as I mentioned putting on a diaper to avoid potential damage, she went pee-pee all over.  Good thing it was a washable cover.

Daddy gets a moment to hold his tiniest girl.  You can see she already has him wrapped around her finger!

I really recommend home visits to parents of newborns.  It is so easy to have me come to you rather than packing up everything and making your way to my studio.   Plus it gives the photos a really relaxed feeling.  This service is free January-March.  When my portrait work picks back up to the hectic pace I keep (April-December) it is still possible to have me come to you for a fee.  Please inquire well in advance if you are interested in scheduling your newborn home session as I need to keep my calendar clear for a longer appointment than I require for studio time (to allow for my travel).

Welcome Home

I have had a blast offering clients in home sessions this winter.  Here are a few favorites from 2 of my recent sessions with 2 different families.  Both had adorable girls and beautiful homes.  Thanks for letting me come into your world to capture the kids in their own space.  I loved it!

We had lots of giggles and smiles from these next girls, but somehow, I am drawn to the more serious photos as my personal favorites.

Baby Fix!

I had to post a few quick shots of this little cutie.  She was so precious in her little bunny jacket!  I love the natural light from the window that makes her skin look like peaches and cream.

I love that my job allows me to often be around babies! I get to miss the 3am feedings (which is nice)…the perfect mix of getting my baby fix fulfilled and still getting a good nights rest.  :)

Winter Photos

Don’t let the winter weather hold you back from getting photos.  Bundle up the kids and let’s go.  I mean come on, how cute are these two all cuddled up in their winter sweaters and hats with rosy little cheeks.

Beautiful Photos…..NOW WHAT?

Okay, so I’ve taken beautiful photos for you, now what do you do with them?  Well, I’m here to help.  I have spent the last few days at client homes helping them discover fun ways to display their images.  Helping clients choose what photos should be grouped together, color vs. bw, canvas vs. print, what sizes they should be….what a blast!

So if you have photos just waiting to be proudly displayed and yet you don’t know how to do it, I’d be happy to come spend a few hours at your home and help you out.  The design fee will be worth every dollar.  I’ll point you in the right direction for where to buy frames that will fit your home decor and instantly make your photos into displays of art!

Shoot me an email info@kellychandler.com or call 425-836-0575 to schedule your home decor visit!

Holiday Cards and Announcements

I am very excited to be creating custom designed holiday cards, wedding thank you notes, engagement and birth announcements for my clients.  They are all printed on heavy card stock with a beautiful pearl finish.   Very classy!  For years, I have taken photos for people and simply referred them to other companies to have their cards created and printed.  I decided it is time for me to start giving clients a way to show their gorgeous photos off to their friends and family in an elegant presentation.

I have been waiting to post any samples because clients are still mailing them out.  But I just couldn’t wait anymore.  I created this beautiful one for The Gleason Family and I LOVED it so much, I had to post it.  So next year, say good bye to those tacky on-line photo cards and let me create something beautiful for you with the images I’ve captured….make a splash with your photos!

I hope to have lots of samples online soon for clients to view on my website.  Watch for that in January!

Matt & Lyndsey…Engagement Session

 bdeluca-2048.jpg

Matt & Lyndsey have been so patient with me as I know they have been super anxious to see the fun photos from their engagement session.  They booked their wedding for next summer and wanted an E-session right away before the weather turned and fall was gone.  I had no openings until January but squeezed them in with the understanding they would have to be patient as I work through processing all the holiday portraits and late fall/winter weddings.  So thanks again Matt & Lyndsey for waiting for your photos to be ready.

I love Matt’s face in this photo.  You can almost read his mind…..”I’m one lucky man!”

bdeluca-2013.jpg

bdeluca-2016-copy.jpg

Toward the end of our session, Lyndsey’s feet were starting to hurt.  I guess when you are a good foot shorter than your man, you need to wear heels often.  Matt scooped her up like a little doll and hiked her on his back as we strolled through Pike Place Market.

bdeluca-2082.jpg

Smiles and lots of cuddles flowed easily between this adorable couple.  I can’t wait to work with you in August ‘09 for your wedding!
